BALIMO TOWN’S DEGRADED ROAD

Balimo Town is the headquarters of Middle Fly District which is a large coastal district. It consists of the local-level government areas of; Balimo urban, Bamu, Gogodala, Lake Murray and Nomad rural, and also the population centers of Bamu, Gogodala, Lake Murray and Nomad.

Now imagine that vast, If the town is the headquarter to five rural areas it deserves or needs proper uplift.

Proper sealed roads & airport,

Running bank branch,

24-hour electricity,

Regular supply of drugs on hospital,

Upgraded primary and high school and technical schools,

Law and order & etc.

Yet despite been the headquarters of Middle Fly District it is suffering from run down and struggling vital services. The town has known to be a” sleeping town” in a dire strait that need uplifting.

Instance for the town’s one-way road that was sealed way back in around 1998, has been run down filled up with port holes and 70% of gravel wearing off. It’s a sore eye to the public walking up & down the degraded road but is still in use by vehicles despite its condition. The weather usually paves its way on the look of the road, muddy during wet seasons and dusty during dry seasons.

Road is one of the vital route, a way on land between two places that has been made to allow travel by foot or by some form of conveyance and Balimo Town is in dire need upgrading its.
